I’ve tried writing this entry several times, and nothing seems to fit, so let me summerize.

I was told a lie many years ago about one of my closest friends and another person. It made sense in that it connected the bits and pieces of information I had come by through other people, so I believed it, blindly. I never went and asked my friend about it, and I’ve been waiting quietly for years now for the other person to say something about it.

So here it is, so many years after the fact, and I discover the truth from the source, and ya know what? The truth is not what I thought it was. I had taken a lie and used it to rewrite history with a slant and pretext that simply did not exist. Having my real history back, where everything is genuine and sincere, is a nice feeling.

I apologize to my friend for being suckered into that lie and never talking about it until now. I’m glad to have cleared up one final bit of uncertainty, but I’m sorry that I had to drag up painful memories for someone in order to get there.

As for the other person, you, my friend, are a lucky man. Your fate is beyond me, now. Your pardon has come from the one person who has the most reason to seek justice, in my opinion.

At least I won’t be losing any more sleep over this one.

Isn’t it amazing how people do this sort of thing? Take a piece of unproven information and use it to change or define relationships and realities?

yeah, yeah… I know I’m behind in posting. I have the sneaking suspicion that everyone has stopped reading… my own fault for not updating, I guess. Well, if you’re still reading, there’s not a whole lot of blog worthy stuff going on right now. Planning a wedding is about the most interesting thing going on, and Deedee’s doing most of that. Got our honeymoon planned out, mostly. Sorry… I can’t tell you where we’re going right now. We’ve decided that only one person will know where we’re going. That way certain unnamed nosey people do not call us the morning after the wedding and ask nosey questions that is none of their business. This person should be immune to all forms of torture and bribery. If you’re interested in the position, please apply below.

I’m trying to think of more stuff to write, but nothing is coming to me… let’s see… bought Deedee a car… speaking of cars, I should spend some time griping about mine… I’ve spent somewhere around $2500-$3000 on that car in two months. It needs to be shot. On the good side, I’ve replaced about every important system in that car. Hopefully, it should be good to drive for a while.

Ok… that’s about all for now… more later..

well… It’s been a while, hasn’t it? What happened to april? It was there a second ago?

There’s a lot of stuff I wish I could have posted, but most of it is forgotten now… I’ll try to update later, but for now, (and since this is really a test, anyway), I’ll leave you with a quote:

Quote of the Day:

“Why would anyone drink Goldschlager anyway? It has real gold in it. Ya know, someday, they’re gonna find out gold is poisonous. That’s why Leadschlager went out of business.” — Deedee

spring break… it should be called spring busy.

On the plus side, I’ve got to spend about 6 – 8 hours with Big Mike in the last two days, and many hours with Brian. I’ve also seen “mom” and “dad”, supposed to see Jenna tomorrow. Even got to play crack with Brian… almost forgot how. I’m too busy playing tag with certain people to catch up with them, but maybe soon I can pin them down for long enough to talk :)

I did run into one person that I would have never thought of… Keith T. (One of the founding members of the Kentucky Friers, ya know) :) I hadn’t seen him since he graduated high school. So Big Mike and I were sitting outside talking and a car drives up and this guys gets out… he didn’t recognize me, and I didn’t recognize him, and yes, we’ve actually changed that much since high school. So he, Mike, and i all piled in my car and went to waffle house… for like 4 hours… It was great. Mike taught me the secrets of shmoozing your way into free hash browns, and Keith is still the sysGod that he was back in high school… He had 4 laptops in his car when I ran into him… There’s a chance that both of these guys could end up in Po’Dunk in a year or two… Mike for education and Keith for software engineering… That would be quite awesome. KF rides again… what would we be this time? KF Legacy? Anway, for those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about… too bad… you’ll have to ask me some time.

Don’t worry… my spring busy isn’t all fun and games… I’ll be back to helping plan the wedding on wednesday. Anyone got any good recommendations? for anything? :) boy, we have a long way to go (and a short time to get there… (first person to finish it gets a cookie)).

ok… as per the DeSoto Appeal:

“Department of Education figures reviewed by The Associated Press show blacks, who account for only slightly more than half of the state’s public school population, made up about 54 percent of students ages 6-21 in special education programs during 2002″

Ok… someone define “slightly more than half” for me, please. Because when I read slightly more than half, I’m thinking 52-53%… and then they say that 54% of the students in special ed represent this group that is “slightly more than half” of the student population. So I think… yup, that’s about right. Apparently, I’m wrong.

Someone explain to me how the numbers mentioned above justify this quote: “It’s easier, unfortunately in our school systems, to remove African American children and place them in special education . . . away from the general education population.”

I hope there are enough educated people left in the world to see what is wrong with the above statements. I guarentee that most people that read that in DeSoto county will go, ‘oh my goodness… they’re right… all of our teachers are racists! I can’t believe they would put so many black children in special education just because of their culture… ‘

Don’t get me wrong… if there was a statistically significant problem over a long enough time period to account for common variation (rather than the snapshot presented in the article), then yes… I would say let’s examine the problem… not go off on a crusade, mind you… just objectively examine the problem.. But looking at numbers for one time period that may or may not show anything significant and then turning and blaming the problem on discrimination is unjustified…

ya know, stupid people find new ways to amaze (pronounced ‘annoy’) me everyday.

if anyone happens to know where I can send a mailbomb to www.magicsearch.ws let me know. I am equally as pissed at microsoft for designing a program that provides outside websites with the ability to edit your registry. WTF??? I have spent the last two weeks trying to completely get rid of this program. It’s a pain in the @$$! It hijacks your webbrowser so that you always are redirected to its website, and everytime you visit the website, it adds another line to your registry, or reinstalls itself in a different form. I have deleted no less than 20 files that were all versions of this program. They all have names like explore.exe and system32.exe, so you don’t think they’re malignant programs until its too late. They also take over your favorites in web browsers and rewrite their locations so that they point back to the stupid website. It also rewrites notepad so that when you run notepad, it starts all over again. I found a program called cwshredder that gets rid of the program, but it only kills the ones that are currently active… To get rid of this thing means manually rewriting half of your registry file… a casual computer use would do better to buy a new computer.

If anyone knows of a microsoft patch for this thing, let me know. (Why the crap would internet explorer need to have write access to your registry in the first place???)

ok…. the moment you’ve been waiting for… The person who said the quote is none other than my younger brother, Caleb.

I told you that you all knew him (Except willer lite… you don’t count). So, to properly give him credit:

This is for Brian.

p.s. I fixed the link. Try clicking on the next to last picture on the page… picture of a guy and two boys. That should play the correct media file and hopefully not give you the disturbing image that a few of us saw.
