quotes from the family…

mom: can you fix the dvd player?
dad: does Raggedy Ann have cotton boobies?

sister-in-law: I spent most of the night thinking ‘what is this in my mouth, and where did it come from?’

brother-in-law: she kicked me right in my accessories!

there’s more, but I don’t have that much time. Plus some are more like stories. Like my mom taking four wrong turns and finding the end of a road on a cliff. Or much better, my dad calling me to find out where we were and how we were doing, and then calling my sister, who was in the back seat, to find out where she was and how we were doing. started a big conversation on how much different things could be in the back seat. and ended with my trying to tell my sister to tell my dad that if she started going some place I wasn’t, that he needed to call me and let me know.

in other news…

My brother graduated from high school. And, he was accepted into OleMiss (and State, and all other state universities). He starts in the fall to pursue a degree in Japanese. kinda neat.

email

Just got an email from a coworker that asked me to stop sending her email so that she could get her work done.

Which would have been fine, except that my emails were to tell her that what she’s doing is wrong.  :)

google what?

Published under Uncategorized.
so, google launched it’s new “Hot Trends” section recently.  Apparently, it shows the top 100 ”hottest” searches on the internet right now.  I originally thought that might be a neat idea.

Here’s two reasons why I take that back:
#42 what part of a graduate’s costume gave the cordon blue cooking school its name
#78 what did the body of water balboa named el mar de sur or “the south sea” come to be called

I continued reading and saw things like #16 “singer ritter”, #29 “writer leonard”, #60 “cofounder of desilu”, and #100 “joust weapon”

What I realized is that google just created a page for the top 100 “hottest” crossword puzzle clues.

I also think it’s sad to think that people have to resort to google to solve their crosswords.  especially for such easy clues… I mean, really.  And what’s the fun of looking everything up on google?  it’s a crossword puzzle, not a google search puzzle.  there’s no thinking involved if you type everything in a search engine.

::sigh::  stupid people.  large groups.  need I say more?

Can’t remember the last time I was this excited about a tv show’s season finale.

Not much to type… I actually opened this with intention of typing about something, but kept being distracted…  Now, I’ve got time, but no clue what I was going to write.  Oh well… I’ll try again later, I guess…

Quote of the Day:

time

Published under Uncategorized.

I left the house 45 minutes early today.  I got to work 18 minutes early.  This greatly annoys me for some reason.

Following this logic, if I wanted to get to work an hour early, I should leave the house 2 1/2 hours early.  Likewise, if I were to leave the house 24 minutes late, I should step out of my house and into my office.  (if this were an Algebra problem, it’d say "Solve for the length of my normal commute.")

I had an interesting quote which involved something about finding your way out of a pillowcase, but as is the normal way of things, by the time I got around to writing it down, I’d forgotten it.

Anyway, I have plenty to gripe about, but nothing I particularly feel like ranting about right at this moment.  (I know, imagine that.)

Ouch…

This hurt my head enough, that I thought it was worth reposting.  It’s an excerpt from a news story on a train crash involving some shuttle stuff:

"The train is believed to have crashed when a bridge it was travelling over collapsed, with serious injuries to the crew on board, one seriously. The incident happened when a bridge the train was crossing collapsed, injuring six people on board. All injuries are understood to be minor, apart from one person, who has serious injuries – though not life threatening – and has been airlifted to hospital."
