I like the way you think. Darn you Rosie O'Donnell!!! There... I feel lighter already. :)

and... apparently the magic BMI "formula" was "decided on by a Panel on Energy, Obesity, and Body Weight Standards and was published by American Journal of Clinical Nutrition."

which immediately discredits the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, and makes me want to rant more about the authors and how "smart" people can be so stupid... but I won't.

See, I'm hoping it works in reverse in a different way.

If having fat friends makes me fat, then perhaps I can lose weight by having fat enemies!

ok, so this has to work in reverse, right? if i can convince all of my friends to lose, say, 15lbs... then i should lose about that much myself. who needs metabolism? i'll just put all my friends on a treadmill while i'm eating my bonbons.

get to running! yah, mule!

seriously, though, this is dumb. people get fat when they eat too much of the wrong things and don't exercise enough. (obvious medical exceptions, blah blah blah, disclaimer, disclaimer.) it's not like there's a single person out there who doesn't know WHY people get fat. or how to get less fat. most people just don't care. and speaking as someone whose BMI on the whole weight/height thing labels me as "overweight" but who is "healthy" when done with calipers, i have to say that i don't blame anyone for not getting riled up about the OMGZ obesity epidemic based on the crappy BMI calculations they're using.
